I'm not going to lie: I had to rewrite this post after the Paris attacks. My first version, written last week, made a lot of snarky comments about what a hassle it is to travel around visiting family during the holidays. And it is. We all know that it is, especially with little ones in tow who are forced out of their comfort zones and routines. But after Friday, it seems like those pilgrimages (lengthy as they can be for some of us) might not seem as big of a hassle to many of us who are traveling back "home" to our families. When the world seems to have lost its mind, it will feel a bit sweeter to sit around a fireplace eating comfort food and laughing about old times, while watching our littles make their own memories. (Although if you are staying put for the holidays in the comfort of your own homes, that sounds incredible, too!).
Here at Wanderlittles, our goal over the next week or so is to celebrate the pilgrimage home and help you get there (or to your fantastic vaca at the beach . . . a girl can dream).
For Day 1, we are super excited to be featuring The Shrunks Toddler Travel Bed (available in Toddler size or Twin). I bought my daughter one of these when she was 3 years old: she was too big for a Pack & Play but too little to sleep in a big bed by herself (we will be showing you another great option from The Shrunks in a couple of days!).
This thing is adorable and super functional, with a pump that plugs into the wall that makes it super easy and fast to inflate. It folds into a nice little bag that isn't too bulky to fit in a suitcase which is great (weighs around 6 pounds). My favorite part of the bed, though, are the inflatable rails on the sides that keep your little one securely in place, and a feature that lets you tuck sheets (we used standard crib sheets on the toddler size) inside the "rails" to get your little one tucked in snug as a bug in a rug. It was so easy to use, and she loved it so much, that we even hauled it to family's homes when it was nap time so she would have a nice cozy, familiar place to sleep (yes, I am serious about my kiddo's naps). Here are some pics from a few years ago . . . we really use and love our Shrunks bed and will happily pass it along to little brother in the future! Hope you like it, too. :)
