WanderLittles.
wanderLittles.
Typing that name for the very first time. Hopefully the first of many. A name that came to my mind in the early hours of a morning and just won’t let me go.
So what is WanderLittles?
It is a marriage of my two passions: travel and my children (things I thought 4.5 years ago were mutually exclusive).
It is, or hopefully will be, a place where moms and dads can find information quickly and easily when trying to plan a family trip, either out of necessity or for fun.
It is, and it is my ultimate wish that it will be, a place where memories are born. And aren’t memories, and education, and adventure, and fun, and love, the absolute best gifts we can give our children?

So I guess this is it. This is the first step of a project, a journey to either failure or success (probably the former, but isn’t learning something either way success in and of itself?). I have been playing with this idea for some time now and wondering if it would be worth all the time and effort involved. Looking into my kiddos’ eyes at the breakfast table this morning (a precocious 4 year old and a smiling, albeit non-sleeping, 7-month old), with my own eye in literal spasms from exhaustion, I still knew I wanted to do this. I needed to do this. Because I believe in it as much as I believe in travel’s ability to transform both the individual and the group.
Going new places teaches you things; going new places with others changes relationships.
Yes, for children that sometimes means boredom and squabbling in the backseat. Think back to your own childhood! I’m not saying the memories are always amazing at the TIME. And it’s even sometimes frightening when you are the parent and things go awry.
But that argument in Branson, that fever at 2am in Cabo, that carsickness when you were lost in the middle of Wales… yeah, that’s the stuff that family lore is MADE OF.
Seriously.
So that is the goal of WanderLittles: to make it possible, even easy, for a mom to quickly book a trip and create memories for her family. Whether it’s a reunion in Reno, an adventure in Austin, or even a little vaca in London, I want a dad to be able to easily find a place to stay and the things to do to author his own family lore.
This is WanderLittles.
Let's make some memories.
